SWAC: Angela Stent: US-Russian Relations and the Countdown to Novemeber 3
We know that Russia is actively involved in the U.S. presidential campaign. What outcome does it seek? And how might U.S-Russian relations evolve after the election? Dr. Stent will examine the current state of relations between Moscow and Washington at a time when Russia has become a toxic domestic subject, even as both countries face challenges that necessitate future cooperation.

Dr. Stent is a foreign policy expert specializing in U.S. and European relations with Russia and Russian foreign policy. She is professor of Government and Foreign Service at Georgetown University and director of its Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies. She is also a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. She has served in the Office of Policy Planning in the U.S. State Department and as National Intelligence Officer for Russia and Eurasia.

Dr. Stent is the author of Putin’s World: Russia against the West and with the Rest (2019) and The Limits of Partnership: U.S.-Russian Relations in the 21st Century (2014).
