SWAC: Shaima Hussain gargash: The United Arab Emirate & the U.S.: Cooperation and Challenges
As the UAE prepares to celebrate its Golden Jubilee, Ms. Gargash will talk about cooperation and challenges in the country’s relationship with the U.S., as well as some of the UAE'sachievements and milestones, including the country’s Probe to Mars and the 2020 historic signing of the Abraham Accords with Israel and the U.S.

The United Arab Emirates and United States cooperate to promote regional security, create economic prosperity, and address pressing global challenges. The UAE also has a robust relationship with Florida that includes more than $1 billion worth of annual trade, key business investments in the state, and many signature philanthropic initiatives in the Keys, Collier County, and Jacksonville. With the most diverse and inclusive society in the Middle East, the UAE has world-class infrastructure, advanced education and health care, and a thriving arts scene. More of the region’s youth want to live and work in the UAE than any other country in the region.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Gargash was the Head of Communications and Public Diplomacy and a political analyst at the Congressional Affairs division at the Embassy. Before her appointment to Washington she led the Policy Division at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
